A rare JH563 / V' desk designed by Hans J. Wegner, 1950.

A large writing desk of teak with two hand-carved floating drawers on a base of turned oak legs braced by a hand-carved central wishbone-shaped strut.

Executed by cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen, Copenhagen, Denmark, 1950.

Underside branded with manufacturer's logo.

Hans J. Wegner is considered one of the most creative and productive Danish furniture designers of all time. He became an honorary member of the Royal Danish Academy for the Fine Arts in 1995, and an honorary doctor of the Royal College of Art in 1997.

Almost all of the world's major design museums, from The Museum of Modern Art in New York to Die Neue Sammlung in Munich, feature his furniture in their collections.

It was in 1940's when Wegner began working with master cabinetmaker Johannes Hansen, who played a major role in introducing modern design to the Danish public.

Swedish designer and entrepreneur Estrid Ericson was born in 1894. In 1924 she founded Svenskt Tenn in Stockholm.

Estrid Ericson wanted to offer beautiful yet affordable pewter (a newly popular material at the time), including modernist sculptures, boxes, candlesticks, and mirror frames.

Svenskt Tenn earned a reputation for quality and received a gold medal at the 1925 Exposition internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. Within a few years, the company had expanded to become one of Stockholm’s most fashionable furniture and interior design shops.

From the 1930s to the 1960s, the couple Tove and Edvard Kindt-Larsen were among Denmark's predominant designers, active the areas of architecture, furniture design, silverware and textiles. Both had studied under Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in the late 1920s. Working as a team, they exhibited a high sense of quality and appreciation of current trends.

The Red chairs are designed in three chairs in different sizes. This model (model 3949) is known as the small red chair.

Beautiful original condition. The provenance is from the same estate  and the chairs have the same level of patina.

Kaare Klint designed the small chair, Model 3949, in 1928 as a smaller version of the "Red" chair, which was originally designed for the Danish Museum of Decorative Art in 1927. The chair was named after the red Niger leather that the chairs were covered with.

Danish architect Mogens Lassen is one of the pioneers of Modernism in Denmark.

These lamps are collector's pieces from the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

The SAS Royal Hotel is a historic hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, that was designed by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen for the airline Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) between 1956 and 1960. The entire hotel from the exterior façade through to the stainless-steel cutlery used in the restaurant and the Swan and Egg chairs gracing the lobby was designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. Since most of his work has been replaced by corporate standard fabrics and furniture, the hotel has been referred to as Jacobsens' Lost Gesamtkunstwerk.

Poul Henningsen (9 September 1894 – 31 January 1967) was a Danish author, critic, architect, and designer, who was one of the leading figures of the cultural life of Denmark between the World Wars. In Denmark, he often is referred to, simply, as PH. PH's most valuable contribution to design was in the field of lighting. He designed the PH-lamp in 1925, which, like his later designs, used carefully analyzed reflecting and baffling of the light rays from the bulb to achieve glare-free and uniform illumination.

Palle Suenson (1904 – 1987) was one of Denmark’s great, modernist architects in the 20th century. He, as some of his architect peers at the time, designed complete projects - gesamtkunstwerks.

In Aarhus Oil Factory Palle Suenson designed the building as well as the furniture and the lighting. All the furniture for the executive office was bespoke design. And although the building was very modernist it its expression, the interior for the executive office expressed much more warm, exclusive, traditional virtues. This cabinet is handmade by a cabinet maker and in excellent condition.
